Speedtree is still better for realism, this tool now beeing free is goated for games though

Speedtree VFX is still the KING for really advanced photoreal vegetation. It's a pain to learn but so worth it. ST has a way to use photogrammetry scans as part of your builds, that is absolutely crucial for photoreal visualisation (even though the workflow is really weird and far from user-friendly).

The version I bought, Cloth Library 3 does not allow you to pose the premade cloth without adding a dummy, which gets in the way. Also no option Apply Pose.

Nice but I want to bring in my own external height maps, not generated waves or voronoi, or what ever. I think I have made it ... work a few times, but it was luck and I am not able to do it consistently. Idealy, I would like a deep bass relief carving, with a perfectly matched up color overlay -- like the colorized US coins that the have.

There’s a geometry nodes version of this on blendermaret with super highquality procedural textures and branching. But I love how diverse the plants are here

Compared to blender this is very outdated method to create trees, We now have hundreds of ways to generate even better quality tress and easily.

Just an FYI. You will need 19GB of space for all files. Download both 2023 and 2024 versions. 2023 is stable while 2024 is mostly stable.

I personally think they are doing this bcz of AI. Since in near future AI to 3d will become even better and many people wouldnt want to buy something like this. anyway its really amazing

I'm an industry professional, studied for 3 years and worked in the most known VFX company all over the world since 7 years as an environment generalist and never I have used Vue in a professional setting, I don't know why the whole internet says that. We use Houdini or Gaea now and before Houdini got big World machine which was more user friendly than Vue as it was nodal.

I had this software back like 10 years ago or more for my exterior vizualisation with 3DS Max. It was one of the most powerful landscape software at that time. Way back before forest pack etc.

Hi if you get some spare time, could you please try and make a high fantasy tree, like a mysterious giant overgrown tree with huge roots, vines, etc.

This is cool but it seems a bit dated now. They textures look very low res. The megascans look a lot better these days.
